It's perfect for testing, but you take up alot of system resources to load a virtual machine. For using XBMC it does not make sense to load a virtual machine when the software is already available natively on all platforms.
Use mythicalLibrarian to make a library out of your MythTV files. Leave the recording to MythTV and use XBMC as your library.

Not sure if you fixed the hosting issue, but I just grabbed it and tossed it up on Usenet.
