Please be more specific! Do you want to start the xbmc application or the computer itself? What OS?

don't use dim as the screensaver, fade to black. it uses less CPU.

What OS are you using? Someone just made a service for windows to start xbmc with wake on lan.
And there is a script in the issue tracker doing the same for linux.

I'd like to have included in the power button of the remote an eventghost command "xbmcstart" for those people having eventghost already installed, so we don't have to run another app in background just to start xbmc.

I already have the android plugin in eventghost and i found this istructions about generating events in android:

I'll be happy if somebody could implement it.

Hey davilla, does the slideshow screensaver use a lot more cpu (and in turn power consumption) than the black screensaver. Is the problem only with the dim?

Just deciding whether i can leave my htpc on 24/7 rather than sleeping it like i do now.

If anyone can help, I'm still looking for a way to start XBMC via remote on Mac OS X
Doing it with the app ConnectBot (via SSH) right now, but its not a nice way.

Hi,

I use http://unifiedremote.com/ to access my htpc computer.
It has several plugins to acceso apps (spotify, foobar, vlc, use as mouse, keyboard, explorer, etc..)
there is a option on the xbmc plugin to start xbmc on the PC.
the only thing you need is to install the unified remote server on your pc.

why not to tell xbmc team to develope a "xbmc remote server" running as service on the pc like the unified oneHuh

There's more useful options to use on xbmc like this app (the phone keyboard, restart/shutdown system, wake on lan, etc...)

I've tested the unified 2.0 beta and works great (needs more features on the plugins, but it's a great app...)

Regards,
Adrián.
