Can someone who has Myth 0.25 post the wsdl somewhere? I'm not upgrading to 0.25 just yet. If they can I could have a look at what Service APIs there actually are and see if a solution could be put together using the Services API entirely rather than having to fallback to the Myth Protocol or MySQL queries / updates.
If the new Services API does contain all the stuff necessary maybe I will revist some of this work...

I will see about posting the wsdl. I am not real sure how to go about it, but will give it a shot. Currently, I can access it from the backend control port, but I can't really open that up to the outside world.

Quote:The old MythXML interface didn't have a solution for LiveTV or Scheduling of Recordings or retrieving Cut / Commbreak Lists. Most everything else was possible and even the HTTP streaming of recordings worked with XBMC's internal player just fine. Live TV for the current MythXML Addon simply routes to the internal LiveTV URLs that then end up using the internal myth:// support, which by all accounts is average at best.

The Services API can do LiveTV and schedule recordings. I can't find a way to get the cutlist/commbreaks. I have posted to the mythtv-dev list asking about it, but haven't received a response yet.

I will let you know if I can figure out how to post the wsdl.

@dteirney: I sent you a PM with links to the wsdl.

The cutlist/commflag marks are currently not available via the Services API, but there is talk of adding them. There is a chance I will look at it if I get some time.

Thanks,
Joel

Where should I look for the latest status on this project? Also as it appears to not be complete, I would like to contribute to get this working, where is the current repo stored?

This project has been replaced by this one: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=110694 there are active discussions going on there, any code contributions welcome I'm sure.

robweber: perhaps this thread could be locked and archived and/or a pointer to the newer thread be added to the original first post in this thread to avoid confusion. dteirney (who started this original post) is fully on board with the new project, see: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid...pid1198033 so I'm sure he wouldn't mind the thread being locked and archived.
