You're probably better off returning it if you want something that runs XBMC. It may never run on that box.

Yeah, what Dan1son said. I was implying it's more of an if than a when.

If you want XBMC, look for a different rig....

If you want an appletv you'll need:

Hi ,

I'm no developper but porting something such as XBMC on the ARM apple TV could take years IMO ...

You'd better get a beagle or pandaboard or even the Smarttop from genesiUSA.

Not as cheap as appleTV though..

Nope, but it will do a lot of the same things. What I mostly need is to be able to access a network share and play all formats from there.

Really? I may be mistaken and things may have changed since last time I looked at this, but whilst you can jailbreak the new atv now, there is very few apps for it and there was no media apps when i last checked.
