Description:
Playing back an MKV with 2 audio sources, a 2ch (default) source and a 5.1 DTS source. Upon selecting the 5.1 source, audio correctly plays back for approximately 1-2 seconds, and then stutters repeatedly. Shortly thereafter, XBMC closes and OS X reports that XBMC has crashed.
I am currently testing this but I believe it's happening on ANY 5.1 source, not just from an MKV or a second audio track.
I currently use optical out passthrough for Dolby Digital, but not DTS (need to have XBMC decode DTS for me). However, I unplugged my optical line, using just my Macbook's own speakers, and it did the same thing. So I don't believe it is related to passthrough or optical playback.
If anyone wants me to try something, I'm all ears. I didn't have this problem on the stable XBMC (9.11). I am running the latest beta, beta 2. The issue also occurred in beta 1, but didn't have time to mess with it until now.
Edit: After more testing, it appears that the "Dolby Digital (AC3) passthrough" option, when enabled, is what is causing this. As long as it's on and optical output is selected, it will crash XBMC shortly after starting playback.
