Since I switched to setting up my sources as smb mounts inside XBMC, rather than mounting the shares first in Finder and pointing XBMC at /Volumes, XBMC has stopped looking at my movie files and displaying stuff like the resolution, audio codec etc.

If I start playing a file, then go back the info is there however.

Is that normal for explicit smb shares?
