(linux) $HOME/.xbmc/userdata
#1
Hi

Is this still right the right location for the userdata folder as listed in the wiki? I just installed on Ubuntu 10.4 and I could only find it in usr/share/xmbc/userdata

Something wrong with my install maybe?

Thanks

Most likely, unless something has been changed very recently. Do you have $HOME/.xbmc at all?? Cheers!!

NO....But I'm not 100% sure what $home is. I have just Home but doesn't include /.xbmc

it just be /home/*YOUR USER NAME*/.xbmc

So, on my box it is /home/xbmc/.xbmc.

the .xbmc is typically hidden in a lot of file managers.

edit:
$HOME is just a variable, which should be the home location on your box. Much like on th ecommand line, ~ is a special character for home. If you go "cd ~" and then "cwd" it should show what your home directory is.

Found it.... It was hidden.

Thanks so much. Still can't get the remote to work. Works in Ubuntu but not in xbmc.
