Failed to initialize audio settings
#1
XBMC (Dharma b2) running on Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-bit. Aspire Revo.

Starting one video that shows AC3 audio results in "failed to initialize audio settings." Some videos with AC3 play fine, though.

It is configured for an AC3-capable receiver, which it is connected to.

This setting works fine when running the LIVE version installed to HD, but the same configuration is generating this error when running the Windows version.

Disabling the AC3-capable receiver setting allows the video to play.

It's odd that you've got some that work and some that don't, but I experienced similar issues on a new Win 7 install on a similar Ion box. If you haven't already, go to NVidia's site and download their HD Audio drivers for Ion. I noticed the default windows drivers that installed with the OS could only handle 2 channel audio, while Nvidia's opened it up to 8.

I did, but to be honest I don't remember what fixed it. Make sure your audio settings are right if you are using a receiver or whatnot. I also think I updated my ION drivers, too.
