This all done minimal ubuntu 64-bit.

a) to upgrade everything...including team-xbmc svn/ppa...is this standard procedure?

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

NOTE: a sudo apt-get upgrade ONLY didnt seem to upgrade the kernel or XBMC

b) is there a way to tell your XBMC build's version through the CLI?

NOTE: I know you can usually see this via System Info on the skin, BUT its not available on all skins...Aeon65 for instance.

NOTE2: I guess what I mean is there an XBMC -v type command...apt-cache showpkg xbmc works for now....

a) no, try: sudo apt-get upgrade instead
b) not sure how but: aptitude show xbmc show package information
