You would achieve the best image at its native resolution 1024x768 even if its over VGA compare to another resolution over HDMI

If your going to use HDMI then you would probably be best going with 1920x1080 as its probably the only one that supports 24Hz then you could use XBMC auto adjust refresh rates

Of course I'm only guessing you need to check the manual to be sure Smile

If you do not restrict the resolution with your xorg.conf, Xorg defaults to the maximum resolution with the maxium possible refresh rate. However you have to restart the X server or use aticonfig/nvidia-settings to change the resolution on the fly.

The manual say's supportet formats: 480i,480p,576i,576p,720p, 1080i,1080p

mh how to get 1080p? I can download XBMC Complete Installer (xci) and set 1080p (1080p @ 23.976Mz) Confused
