Sound stops working
#1
I have been plagued by this issue for a while.. If I keep XBMC running idle for a while, the sound stops working, but not just from xbmc but the whole system. As soon as I close XBMC system sounds will start working. However starting up xbmc sound still wont work, only way to make it work is by a reboot.
I have an acer revo using spdif for sound. System is running ubuntu lucid, but had issue with karmic to.
Am using latest version of dharma beta, but this issue has been plauging me from pre dharma.. although it seems to happen even more often now.
The time is random, sometimes it is two or three days after a reboot, next time it could be running fine for over a week.. but it usually always takes a couple days.

Anyone have any idea?

Try to update ALSA to the newest version.
