Can XBMC decode DTS?
#1
I'd like another XBMC in my bedroom where I don't have a surround receiver, so the PC will be plugged in to the TV only.

Can XBMC decode DTS internally so I'll get sound from the TV speakers when playing them?

yes xbmc decodes DTS, rather through an amplifier mind, don't know of any TV that decodes DTS!

Have no problems with DTS here, actually prefer it over Dolby Digital!

Well what I meant was that Popcorn Hour A-110 for instance decodes DTS internally and when you choose Analog out for DTS, you can still get sound on a TV, because the decoding is not up to the TV.

well if you choose stereo output in xbmc from a dts stream.. guess what xbmc does Wink
yeah you get stereo output on the tv, so xbmc does decode it for you.

if you got an xbmc client why didnt you just set it to stereo and try it? o_O

Dismantling my living room setup and moving it to the bed room seemed more troublesome than asking here Smile
