Hello all,
It seems that the current version works for Eden on iMon LCD. However I noticed some errors and troubles when using. So, I'm going to try to make the source code compatible for Eden version of XBMC (for iMon LCD). Would anybody like to help me to test the new versions and to search for bugs?
Thanks,
Martin.

Hello all,
Regarding the errors - I just looked into the log while debug logging turned on - I do not know what's there in your case but in mine there are errors reported. It may be related to inconviences you mentioned.
Regarding the code - since Montellese started this project as open source I will, of course, go the same way. Just need to find out how to make the source code available to public easily. I do not have experience with github or sourceforge directly. However, I do not have the source code of cdenfert's modified version. This way, I would like to ask cdenfert for release his source code if possible as he for sure did a great work on it. It would be much better for me.
I just wanted to know if I'm doing the modifications only for me or whether there are more people who want it working well. I will see, but I may also implement some new features if desired.
I will be happy to see that Montellese is going on in his work, however it seems that he is unfortunatelly no longer working on iMon for LCD. I will also try to contact him to use his git repository if possible.

(This post was last modified: 2012-01-08, 18:32 by Twigtechnology.)
I just registered to offer my help testing on a iMON VFD Antec Fusion.
Antec graciously swapped the original LCD for an older VFD module. Due to my chronic migraines the overly bright LCD was unbearable.
I just got cdenfert's last build working with Eden, although unstable, it looks promising.
Originally I hoped that I could browse my audio collection just using the VFD, it would be wonderful if this functionality could be added in the future. But I won't hold my breath.
As it stands it displays playing media information on the upper line of the VFD, the lower line can only be used as a progress bar or display time/remaining. Some characters look like they are incorrectly mapped in the vertical progress bar. Unfortunately these things are hardcoded in XbmcOniMonVFD.
In the meantime I am using Logitech's media sever to play multi-room audio with squeezeplay software.
I mention this because Logitech also uses port 9090 and this clashes with xbmc/XbmcOniMon. You can change this default port number in xbmc's advancedsettings but not in XbmcOniMon.
I would like to thank Montellese and cdenfert for developing and maintaining XbmcOniMon up to this point, and wish BlackMan all the best.

Twigtechnology: There is an option to change the port in XbmcOniMon in the last Montellese version (0.1.4.0 I think). To be honest I did not launch the cdenfert's version as I have an LCD, however I see no reason why this option would have been removed.
