My dream high-end HTPC for XBMC?

poofyhairguy, you said "Agreed. I will take a nice NAS and HTPC frontend over a monster HTPC any day.

In fact that is the core of my HTPC philosophy.

Here is my best advice for a futureproof HTPC. I think about this stuff way too much, so I am glad to help:

The best of the best would be to start with this deal:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundl...mbo.492748

It is a perfect deal, like I put it together or something. That case is my current favorite HTPC case. Lian Li, sick build quality, looks guaranteed to makes normal people go "where did you buy that thing?!?""

I tried the link, but the combo deal is no longer available. It sounds like you had some great HTPC options picked out. Can you recall the individual items in that combo?

I just posted a request for input on this very topic and someone referred me to you. (I'm building an HTPC hybrid - for gaming, video / photo editing, and HTPC / XBMC)

Thanks!

If you read this thread a little farther, you'll see on post http://forum.xbmc.org/showpost.php?p=642...stcount=53 a guy enumerates all the parts. I just checked and newegg has reconstructed the deal but the link has changed. You can find it under the Lian Li case, but here's the deal:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundl...mbo.549135

I bought that same deal and have built the system. I haven't really got it fully up and running due to the season, but my first impression is that it's louder than I wish, and I haven't plugged in the case fans. But it should be a nice system once I get it done.

How about this one:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6856158018
It has an i3, GeForce GT 425M, 500 GB Hard Drive, Bluray Drive, 4GB Kingston RAM, and is said to run completely silent. Is the GT 425M with this setup good enough to run XBMC with 1080p Bluray ISO Rips, with no lags, does anyone have one of these and if so did you get an SSD drive to boot with it?

That plus a SSD is the best All-In-One HTPC on the planet.
