[Dharma 4] Mpeg-TS shows, but no sound
#1
Hi,

I'm using Dharma 4 on Win7-32Bit with Zotac Atom/ION Hardware and a Sony 46".
I've recorded a HD TV show (h264, 1280x720) with my Terratec T3 DVB-T receiver and HomeCinema. This results in a .ts file.
The file is shown fine with xbmc, but no sound. The OSD says there are no sound streams in the file but MediaInfo thinks different:

Quote:Audio
ID : 2321 (0x911)
Menu ID : 1 (0x1)
Format : MPEG Audio
Format version : Version 1
Format profile : Layer 1
Mode extension : Intensity Stereo
Codec ID : 28
Duration : 23s 946ms
Bit rate mode : Constant
Bit rate : 256 Kbps
Channel(s) : 2 channels
Sampling rate : 32.0 KHz
Video delay : -1s 388ms
Stream size : 748 KiB (4%)

I've searched the forum, but all topics relating to .ts are quite old and have no solution.
What can be the problem?

Thanks in advance

Or you could upload the sample on megaupload rapidshare hotfile etc... and devs can quickly get at it Smile

well...

17mb worth 40 seconds of danmark radios HD program information slides with muzak...

Thanks for looking into it.

BTW, reason for all this is I just bought a HD DVB-T stick after realising my old, reactivated tv-card does only mpeg-2 and danish dvb-t has partly switched to mpeg-4. Only to find out xbmc (my loved and trusted "plays it all" tool over the last 6 years) has problems with the sound. Rolleyes

Perhaps it's a good idea to add the binary upload possibilities to http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=42708 ?

Can't be that old since I posted about this about 2 weeks ago too.
I have the same problem but my streams are SD (Haupage pvr USB2). At the moment I have a script which uses ProjectX to fix the .ts stream. After that it works OK in XBMC.

OK found my post and I can see why it didn't turn up in your search, here is the link:

From that post I'll copy and paste my debug log parts. The first is an unmodified ts stream and the difference with an altered one is in the Program Stream info
Quote:22:39:53 T:3892 M:1184845824 DEBUG: CDVDDemuxFFmpeg::Open - av_find_stream_info finished

And this is the modified or from the pvr-testing branch:

From the looks of it I would say that the cause of the problem is in ffmpeg.

Bump!

Hi,

has anyone looked into this?

I'm also trying to find out what the recording side (Terratect Home Cinema) is doing, but to no avail as of now.

Actually, HomeCinema self can play it's recordings fine including sound.
I also tried with TsMuxer to convert the files to another container, but TsMuxer cannot see audio either. Undecided

Thanks again
