Another time to the MySQL: It is not the time or complexness of the setup process. What about users that have:
1) their data on a network capable HD
2) no server
3) only one of their computers on at a time (so no mysql possible)
This discussion is NOT about sharing all DB contents, but how to keep multiple XBMC synchronized. This may be done quite simple using DB triggers and python. Should be not too hard to implement...in fact my homebrew solution is nearly complete.
So lets STOP this MySQL discussion. There are some other interesing points in the wishlist.
