Using Beta2 - no DXVA option?
#1
Hi all,

I have a sweet setup of Dharma BETA2 on my htpc that I was keen to replicate on my laptop. So I downloaded the same build from here:
http://mirrors.xbmc.org/releases/win32/x..._beta2.exe

Installed it. Got all my sources, addons setup nicely. Then tried to play a 1080p mkv; stuttered. Both machines have nvidia cards (don't know if that's relevant?), but checking in the Video playback options I notice on my laptop there's no "Allow DXVA2 hw acc." option. Whereas on my htpc, the option is there.

Do the builds from that location get changed now and again? (I was pretty sure beta 2 had this option in it). -- in fact I actually reverted to BETA2 because I'd already tried BETA4 and found no such option.

Is it only available depdening on the machine spec or something?

As I say, both machines have nvidia cards.. They do run different OS's; not sure if that's the difference? (the laptop runs XP), the HTPC runs 7Ultimate.

Can someone advise?
thanks.

Search out DSPlayer - it uses Direct Show filters, within xbmc framework. Buggy at best at the moment. Other option is using an external player.
