Crashes when changing refresh rate
#1
Hello,

I have configured my manually compiled XBMC r35243 (default flags) to automatically switch to the appropriate refresh rate depending on the source. By default it runs on 60Hz to get a smooth user interface and switches to 24Hz or 50Hz as required.

Unfortunately, XBMC often crashes when switching resolution. I've pasted some logs to pastebin. It seems to have something to do with VDPAU being preempted (rule 1268 of my crashlog), but I have no idea what it means.

It seems to occur only with HD material, both with H.264 and DivX (e.g. Sintel). It doesn't crash every time I open an HD file, but it does happen frequently. When I manually switch to the proper refresh rate in advance or when I disable the automatic refresh rate option the crashes do not occur. The crashes seem to occur more frequently when I choose to open a movie from the beginning than when I try to resume a movie.

Does anybody have any clue as to the cause (and possibly the solution) of this problem? Thanks!

Looks like the same as http://trac.xbmc.org/ticket/10658
Something is crapping on the stack and it's rather difficult to figure out what.
