I've been to the future of this thread and the devs are asking you to provide your xbmc log and a mediainfo dump of the file in question Wink

I bet it's interlaced video.

VDA doesn't work with interlaced material.

Don't think so as these are either HD-DVD or Blu-Ray Rips. I use ANYDVD-HD with ClownBD .

... as far as I remember, VDA can't handle interlaced video.

I have almost the same issue with HD .ts files (interlaced) from a dreambox 800DH.

Watching these files on a mac mini (2010) & VDA on -> crash!

Watching these files on an iMac 24" (Early 2009) & VDA on -> NO crash! Works!

Both computer are running 10.6.5. Seems to me like it is a mac mini thing.

Sample file is ready for download at:

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/22342158/%239_test.ts

I tested it twice with the sample. iMac 24" (Early 2009 running 10.6.5 & VDADecoder on) plays the file.

macmini (2010 running 10.6.5 & VDADecoder on) shows only a freeze frame and plays sound in the background. When trying to access the OSD and stop playing the file XBMC crashed showing the spinning beachball of death.

Hi Davilla,

did you tried the sample? Does it crash?

I'm curious about it.

Thx
