I can confirm the registry modifications in ffhhkk's thread fixed this problem for me, on 2 Windows 7 computers.

I am running XBMC 10.0 on my AppleTV as delivered by the latest version of the launcher, and I still cannot connect to my Win7 x64 box with the Live-ID Assistant installed. Uninstalling it is not an option as multiple programs on my computer require it. Was the 10.0 release supposed to fix the issue on AppleTV, or is a fix still in the works?

The registry fix in the ffhhkk's post sounds too risky to be of any real use.

gr8r-x Wrote:Basically, yes. You can either copy it to a thumb drive or scp it over. If you have access to a shell already, you can even just use wget (assuming you have the internet connected to it), as below;

Code:
wget http://au.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/s/samba/libsmbclient_3.5.6~dfsg-1ubuntu1_i386.deb
sudo dpkg -i libsmbclient_3.5.6~dfsg-1ubuntu1_i386.deb

All that does is download the .deb file, to where ever you are, then runs dpkg to install it. It will replace/upgrade the older version. Reboot and hey presto - should work.

For those trying this and finding that the link is dead, see this post for an updated version : http://forum.xbmc.org/showpost.php?p=720515&postcount=7
