IR USB Dongal for PC for use with Harmony One remote?
#1
Hi there

I just got a harmony one remote and now logitech support is telling me that I need a 3rd party IR DONGAL, to allow it to communicate with the computer...

Dose anyone know what they are talking about.. the store i normally buy stuff off says I need to buy a 2n d remote, just to get the ir dongal.. is that true?

Dose anyone know any IR Dongals that work in ubuntu / xbmclive and the harmony one remote?

Thanks in advance

Thanks I am not asking about setting it up.. I am asking about what he devices are called that you need for teh remote to talk to teh computer in teh first place and who makes them... I guess you mean this HP Media Receiver thing... I got this thing... "HAUPPAUGE WINDOWS MEDIA CENTRE IR REMOTE CONTROL" but it is like really expensive compared to the 10 bucks for that other device... will ti work though?

One of these works perfectly with a Harmony and XBMC. I have a few and have gotten them to work with both Windows and Linux:
