Does anyone have any tips or guides to setting up a remote button to save/load states in zsnes? I use Event Ghost with a Universal remote. I can't seem to find a keyboard shortcut in zsnes related to save states, though.

first I want to thank you for your fantastic work, at last I was able to get my pdf book collection in XBMC!
Now I have a problem: While I added the pdfs I had thumbnails of the covers added to the list entries via a set-up path for thumbs. This was working fine.
Later, I changed some of these thumbnails to better versions and I struggle to get the old thumbs replaced by the newer ones.
I assume XBMC loads the thumbs from its thumbnails folder, but I want it to look again in the set thumbnail path for the launcher.
I could manually replace every thumbnail by using the context menu for each list entry but that would be a pain with over 1600 pdfs...

Do you have any idea how to get the new images in?

Unfortunately, XBMC do not loads automatically the thumbs from the thumbnails folder defined by advanced launcher. XBMC use a cache. So, the first time you add a thumb to an item, XBMC store this thumb into its cache directory and so the next time you will start XBMC it will load the thumbs from its cache folder and not from the Advanced Launcher defined folder. So... if you replace a thumb image file by another one (with same name), XBMC will not detect it and will automatically display the image from its cache. The problem is that XBMC do not have any option to clear its proper cache. Now you can bypass this using several methods :

First one, is to delete the XBMC cache folders and associated database. Main inconvenience of this method is that you will also loose your movies, series and music thumbnails... and you will have the scrap again this data. This method is only interesting of you do not care about movies, series and music thumbnails.

Second method, is to wait.... After a certain time (could be days or weeks), XBMC renew it's cache. So your thumbnail modification will be taken into account and your old thumbnail image will be replace from the XBMC cache by the new one.

Third method, as you mention it, is to do it manually.... but it will be really long.

Last method is to use the NFO files support of Advanced Launcher to save all your PDF files informations; clear the items list of each launcher; disable all the scrapers (data, thumbs and fanarts); scan for new items (here the new thumbnails image will be imported) and then reload the items info from the NFO files. Here is hoe to proceed for each launcher :
  1. Select a launcher
  2. Go into edit launcher / Items List / Export Item data to NFO files.
  3. Go into edit launcher / Items List / Clear items list.
  4. Go into add-on settings / Data & Info / Import during scan -> set it to none
  5. Go into add-on settings / Thumbs / Import during scan -> set it to none
  6. Go into add-on settings / Fanart / Import during scan -> set it to none
  7. Go into add-on settings / Fanart / Import during scan -> set it to none
  8. Go into edit launcher / Add Items / Scan for New Items.
  9. Then, go into edit launcher / Items List / Import Item data to NFO files.

I tried this several times without exporting and importing the nfo-files.
I have no manually added info to the files except the thumbnail so I think it's not necessary to save the nfo. Right?
Anyway, when I tried it with exporting the nfo file there was a script error and only 2 of 1600 nfo files were generated.
Emptying the list and rescanning alone didn't help. Sad

Does anybody know if one can influence the XBMC cache refreshing?

Ok, so, if you do not have any info linked to your items, exporting/importing .NFO is effectively not necessary. BTW, I'm interested to know why you have a script error. Could you please try to reproduce the error and then post here (using pastebin service) the content of the xbmc.log file.

Now, what I understand is that you have replaced your old thumbnails files by newer one, with same name and into the same folder. If your thumbs are into a different different folder than your PDF file, one tricky thing you can try is the rename the folder containing the thumbnail images. Change in consequence the thumbs folder path into each launcher settings and then clear item list and rescan.

Other way is to wait that XBMC refresh its cache. I think there is a add-on for this : http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=96097. But I'm not sure it will clean the program thumbnails.

Hm, now I can export the nfo, the error doesn't show up.

The add-on is a good one but unfortunately only touches video and music thumbs.

I'm currently using this plugin with the 'Aeon Nox'-skin, and the InfoWall-viewtype (square). The problem is that when I add (for example) PSX-games, the rounded corners of the "frames" hide parts of the boxart. Is there any way to modify this?

I've been using your plugin for quite a while now and i really like it, its by far my preferred emulator launcher.
I ran into a problem today though, i swapped skin, and tried to manually add some Neo Geo roms, so i tried installing Adv. Launcher 1.6.5 and this didnt help either, restarted my PC and it still didnt help. I also changed the skin a few times, plus i tried to rescrape the entire Neo Geo library, all to no avail.
I saw on this site that its customary to post a logfile, so i was hoping if you or someone else could have a look at it and help me?

Yes you need to ask to the 'Aeon Nox'-skin developer to fix this. Advanced Launcher not have any control on skin display.

Which version of XBMC and windows are you using? Could you also post here the content of your launcher.xml file (using the pastebin service)? I need to look if your neogeo launcher is well configured. Does this occur only when you want to manually add/edit a rom or does this also occurs during automatic scan?
