Hey guys, I am getting the entry below in my log when I try to launch any of the four emulators that I have. After selecting a rom to launch, it never launches and returns to the menu. I have the same result for each emulator (zsnes, mednafen, dolphin, mupen64plus). Any ideas from the log below what is going on?

This error message occurs because you are using an old version of Advanced Launcher not compatible with Frodo version of XBMC. Please use last version of Advanced Launcher : 1.10.7. For this I strongly suggest you to install Angelscry's Repo into XBMC.
No, no, no... That's not possible. Your error message indicate that Advanced Launcher try to use the deprecated function executehttpapi(...). This function have been removed from Advanced Launcher code for since version 1.10.0 : http://www.gwenael.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=367. Are you sure version 1.10.7 is installed on your system (and not only listed into my repo)?

I checked again and the version is showing as 1.10.7. I also tried uninstalling 1.10.7 and re-installing from from your repo. Should i delete all traced of the plugin and re-install?

Really strange. You can try to uninstall Advanced Launcher from XBMC. Then close XBMC and delete the xbmc/addons/plugin.program.advanced.launcher folder if it still present. Also delete all the Advanced Launcher packages present into xbmc/addons/packages. Then restart XBMC and install Advanced Launcher from Angelscry's Repository (not from the XBMC officlal repository).

Also, are you using duplicate version of Advanced Launcher on your system? Because duplicate versions are not automatically updated. You need to do it manually (delete duplicated add-on, copy/rename add-on and modify/edit add-on).

Finally, XBMC Frodo is actually into Beta 2.

I had this issue, though it seemed to only affect beta 1. Both Frodo Alpha 7 (I think? Whichever the last alpha was) and Beta 2 work for me. beschmid, you might want to try installing Beta 2 if you haven't yet.
I got the latest anglescry and installed. I put link for chromium browser. IT launches. Few problems though.

There are no maximize/minimize/close buttons so I cannot close the browser to return to Xbmc. Also when browser launches it creates a windowed version of XBMC behind it. If I try to exit that it simply hangs. Browser continues working. Power button my only option. Any ideas?

Which version of Advanced Launcher are you sing? Windows? Linux? XBMCbuntu? OpenElec?

XbmcBuntu.

Some more information. I figured it is switching to "Windowed" mode. So I can get it back to fullscreen.
Now I installed firefox and tried it. Here, I get "File" menu, so I can use Ctrl-Q to quit, then move from Windowed mode to Full Screen and resume using XBMC.

So Chromium is the real issue. I cannot close it. And while it is running if I try to execute any command in the windowed XBMC, it hangs while Chromium is still usable. But, no way to get back into XBMC other than hit Power button.

For now I will use Firefox. I feel Chromium works faster though, so any help you can offer is much appreciated.
If you start Chromium into kiosk mode, that's mean that you will have no access to menu (the goal is to have a real fullscreen interface). In this case f you want to close Chromium use ATL+F4 keys (like for any other applications).

If you do not want XBMC do be minimized, go into your launcher context menu ("C" key), then go into "Edit Launcher" > "Advanced Modifications" and set "Toggle XBMC fullscreen" to OFF.

For the hanging problem... are you using the last version of Advanced Launcher (1.10.7) ?

Thanks for the tip on keep XMBC full screen. Very much prefer it since after I'm done browsing I want to close browser and resume in XBMC.
But, Alt F4 does not close Chrome, I tried. Didn't close Firefox either, but of course I have File Menu in Firefox so Ctrl Q does close the browser.
Yes, I am using 1.10.7. Just got it from your repo.

Ok... I thought that only Chromium was the problem, but actaully I think that it is related to the use of XBMCBuntu. Are you using XBMCBuntu into XBMC standalone mode (mean that your directly boot into XBMC) or into XBMCBuntu mode (mean that your are boooting into thw desktop/windows manager then start XBMC)?

I'm using direct XBMCBuntu installed on my hard drive. PC boots directly into XBMC, but then I obviously exited to "XBMCBuntu" to install firefox. Chromium was already installed. I am thinking when I click link to launch either Browser, it first switches from XBMC to XBMCBuntu and then launches, but I could be mistaken.

Maybe it is Frodo "beta" issue? Didn't try with Eden so asking.
