Could someone explain how to change the scraper source per launcher? Currently if I change the scraper source in add-on settings advanced launcher changes the source for all launchers.

This isn't ideal when having console and arcade launchers for instance, unless I'm missing something?

You cannot assign a scraper source per launcher. BTW, you don't need to use a scraper each time you start a launcher.

Thanks for the reply, that's the way I thought it was operating. So generally I'll change scrapers in add-on settings before updating whatever library at the time then?

Is there a way to disable the use of an object's fanart in the background?

I'm using Aeon Nox. My emulators don't have fanarts selected yet, so they default to the skin, which I have configured here to use a nice, clean, dark background.

[Image: RLfdvEx.png?1]

The idea is that when I do have fanart, it would only appear in that box in the lower right hand corner of the screen, while the background is always what it is here, whenever I am in Advanced Launcher.

But that isn't how it works. If an object has fanart, it looks like this.

[Image: VrzcI1A.png?1]

Yikes.

I see no option to disable the use of fanarts in the background (although, I coulda swore I had seen it before). That being the case, is there a line of code I can hack to kill that feature? Using the Aeon Nox feature to set the background for a viewpoint appears to get overruled by Advanced Launcher's rule of using the fanart as background. Only when an object has no fanart is Aeon Nox allowed to control the background, like I want it to.

What I wish we could have is a different image for the picture below the text rather than having two pics of the background. It doesn't look as aesthetically appealing when you've made custom images for game emulator backgrounds like what I did.

That's a skin feature and it is not directly related to the add-on. Advanced Launcher allows you to define fanart and extrafanart paths to display different fanart images (as background or as screenshot images for example).

But it the skin do not support this feature... you will not have it.

That the skin which display the same fanart as background and as image preview, not Advanced launcher. If you want to use different images, you may have to define a extra-fanart path, but here again the skin you use have to support it.

Cirrus Extended v3 may support it.

could you add a fallback to google if <insert scrapped db here> returns no image?, or add all supported scrapper in edit -> change page. e.g
import from TGDB
import from google
import from ...
link image

another problem i got is game with iexplorer "steam://rungameid/<id>" would have thumb and fanart shared while it could probably use advanced-launcher-id.jpg or cleaned argument (remove ' " / )

thanks

Yeah, you're right. I went to the TV Show library, and in Aeon Nox's Background Customizer, there is an option to switch background to fanart, extra-fanart, and off. If turned off, then you can choose a background that all TV shows would share.

But this option isn't available in Advanced Launcher. It seems to be dependant on the plugin itself, though. YouTube has the option, but it is broken. Apple Trailers has the option, and it works the way I'd want it to work in Advanced Launcher.

Oh, and yeah, Aeon Nox supports extra-fanart. But the option isn't available to us in AL.

No, I could not. Scappers act as module. They could be removed or added without affecting of the overall operation of Advanced Launcher. Users can even add their propoer scraper. So, I cannot hardcode a scrapers list or a scrapers sequence as and Advanced Launcher menu.

Just "link" thumb and fanart images to the launcher or simply use windows shortcuts or create a small .bat script.

No, no, no. Fanart and extrafanart paths are sent to XBMC by the add-ons. And the skins get this information from XBMC to display them or not. At no time the add-on and the skin directly communicate each other. That's only the skin which decide what has to be displayed or not.

If you did not see any option to select between background, fanarts or extrafanart for programs section (where is located Advanced Launcher) but only for videos section (where are located Youtube and Apple trailers add-ons), it's because Aeon NOX did not support this feature for the programs section. Aeon Nox may supports extra-fanart, but only for movies or videos sections of XBMC... and definitively not for the Programs section.

As display in my last screenshot, Advanced Launcher allow you to define an extra fanart for each launcher and each item, and the extrafanart information if sent to XBMC. Now... the AeonNox skin need to get this information to display it into it different programs views.

Here is the Skins Makers Guide of Advanced Launcher : http://www.gwenael.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=184. Extrafanart paths are supported by Advanced Launcher since nearly 3 years now.

Hi I'm quite new to xbmc, so I apologise if I'm asking something that's already covered, but there's, thousands of posts in this thread Sad

I have finally managed to set up advanced launcher with hyperspin, it launches fine, but when I close hyperspin, and xbmc pops back up, my task bar is visible and I have to click on xbmc again or alt tab back to it.

It's not too bad on PC, but I'm about to build a htpc, and hoping to eventually have a remote, so won't be using mouse or keyboard.

I installed someone's steam launcher yo launch big picture and that is fine when exiting.

I'm using aeon mq5 skin if that makes any difference

Any advice is appreciated

Hide your task bar. You don't need it if you use your PC as an HTPC.
