[CLOSED] Advanced Launcher - Applications Launcher Addon for XBMC
(2014-09-11, 09:22)peppe_sr Wrote: hi Angelscry
i'm setting my xbmc game section using advanced launcher and my mame. all worked fine. roms start and pressing esc i can come back to xbmc closing the emulator.
today i had a problem. at first attempt roms are well played but to a certain point all roms don't start anymore from xbmc. i restarted xbmc and the launcher has disappeared with all roms.
under advanced launcher default i had just one launcher (mame) now "default " is empty.
i tried adding a again a mame launcher hoping that my roms appear again but nothing. have you idea of what happened? could i recover what i have already added (roms and thumbs added all in manual mode).
emulator folder is still there really don't know what happened.
just another question when i add the mame this emulator is not present in the "select platform" list. why?
thank for your help.
Peppe
Your launchers.xml may has been corrupted. Fortunately, Advanced launcher include a backup system to restore possible file corruption. Go into Advanced Launcher settings > Advanced > Import XML file (restore backup) > Then select an xml backup file before your problem occurs. File name format is : YYYMMDD-HHMMSS-MILLISEC-launchers.xml. It will restore your setup.

Concerning MAME... MAME is an emulator, not a platform. MAME is a software that emulate a lot of arcade game plaforms.
You are great man.
for MAME obviously you are right. my mistake.

Hello guys and thx for the hard work

I'm trying to make it work on my minix x7,4.4.2 rom rooted and using spmc

I have the error message "cannot create launcher.xml file" and "cannot create backup file"
when searching for new objects..any idea whats wrong plz?

thx a lot
I've got a new bug with Advanced Launcher on my end. If I set "Action on XBMC Playing Media" to "Let Play", the expected result is that media will keep playing if I start a launcher, right?

That's not what happens. Instead, having the option set to this will cause XBMC to become entirely mute upon starting a files launcher. All audio in the program is lost, and no amount of messing with volume and audio settings will bring it back short of exiting XBMC and restarting it. This happens regardless of whether or not there's media playing in the background.

Note that this only affects files launchers such as emulated games and digibooks, not standalone launchers. Also, the other two options for the setting work as expected. Do you have an idea on what the problem might be?

ADDENDUM: I think I found another quirk related to this. If I change the setting to "Pause", the last previously queued playlist will restart upon re-entering XBMC. This will happen even if the playlist is finished or I manually stopped it. It gets pretty annoying at times. It happens in launchers of all types. Is this how it's supposed to work?

Same here!
All Audio is lost in XBMC after starting an file in Advanced Launcher. Also the Playback of any Video File is Way too fast and has no Sounds after starting and closing a File in Launcher. I have to shut down XBMC an restart it to have Sound and normal speed of the Videos.Sad
Would it possible to have a "Pick Random Game" option in one of the next releases of AV? That would be nice!!!

Alright, cheers mate for all your support. Will try that as soon as I find time for it and report back.

Hi Angelscry,
just wanted to let you know that it works like a charm now and is importing everything perfectly.
Thanks so much for your help and time.

Hi, I'm running XBMC 13.0 Gotham with Aeon Nox 4.1.9.9 Mod by Warlion and the white theme.
You can get the skin/mod via THIS thread.

@ Angelscry
Do you know if this skin supports logos for advanced launcher?
And is it normal that I can't press "I" to get the extended info screen?

It surely an XBMC/Advanced Launcher bug, but I'm not able to fix it by myself.

A modification to audio have been done with version 2.5.4 of Advanced Launcher. Could you please confirm me that using the prior version 2.5.3 of Advanced Launcher fixe the problem? http://www.gwenael.org/Repository%20Arch...-2.5.3.zip

I have never used Aeon Nox 4.1.9.9 mod before. Logo display and button assignment (to display view) are only managed by skin. I think you will have a better support to your problem on the skin/mod related thread.

Yeah, I can confirm that the media playback setting functions properly in 2.5.3. I guess the changes done in 2.5.4 caused some sort of regression?
