Programming windows function keys to perform XBMC specific action
#1
I have an ADESSO WKB-4000US wireless keyboard which works great with my Windows XBMC box.

Is there a way in windows to program a function key, for example, to go from the XBMC the main menu to a particular named music playlist, or a start a particular photo folder slide show?

Thanks.

XBMC allows you to change the mapping of keys to XBMC actions. See http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Mod...yboard.xml for my attempt at an article explaining this. If you search the Wiki there are other pages covering the same material.

If you're using Windows you can get my keymap editor from http://xbmcmce.sourceforge.net/ (or it's built into my MCERemote add-on) which saves having to hand write XML in Notepad. A list of the basic XBMC actions is at http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Action_IDs and functions at http://wiki.xbmc.org/?title=List_of_Built_In_Functions.
