Acer RL100

I have been looking out for this constantly since it was shown at the IFA in Berlin this year. Sadly it came too late for me...

But it is sexy, with Blu Ray and own tiny self charging remote keypad. Of course the specs have been known in outline for a while, but this link below has real hard specs. It does not seem to be available in North America yet.

Sadly all the reviews on amazon.de complain about the fan noise.

Just bought the Acer RL100 as I wasn't happy with the performance on my ATV2 and I can confirm , it works brilliantly.

After uninstalling all the junk that comes pre-installed, straight HDMI connection to my Amp gives me full 1080p, dts 5.1 and a smooth XBMC playback.

All content is stored on a 4TB network storage, however it has a 500GB drive should you wish to copy any content over....gigabit ethernet port to help with this.

Recommend this to anyone looking to buy a media pc for XBMC.

Any questions on performance etc, please let me know.

Thanks

Mike

Thanks for the offer Mike, I'm thinking about getting myself one of these at the end of the month.

Questions:
  • Is there an infrared port on it? (I can't find any mention of one in the specs but I live in hope)
  • What's the noise like, is it audible?
  • Have you tried XBMC live on it, and if so, any problems with audio over HDMI?

Thanks for any answers.
