Would this be a good HTPC??

hi guys!

i need some professional advice here Smile

i almost bought a ZOTAC box but after adding the RAM and HDD,

final cost would have been $350 shipped to my door....

Then i tried to see if i could instead build my own little HTPC for 350$....

And i found a working combination!

here it is...

Image
MOTHERBOARD: JetWay HDMI MicroATX Onboard ATI Radeon HD4250 $70
CPU: AMD Athlon II X2 3.0GHz $63
RAM: 2 x 2GB DDR3 1333Mhz $50
HDD: OCZ Onyx 32GB SSD $80
CASE: Athena MicroATX 470W $66.50

all of this ships to my front door for 355$ Smile

So, would it be strong enough to play 1080P H.264 MKV'sHuh

thx

Better and cheaper mobo:

Everything will be fine for Windows 7. Honestly will probably work on Linux too, even though personally I would much prefer a add on NVidia card (or a Nvidia mobo) if you want to go the Linux route.

You could get a less power PSU easy, 350w would do it.

What case?

well that mobo is 6 Channels only and not 8 ....

and it costs me $85 - $15.00 USD mail-in rebate = ~$70
