[LIVE] Slow video streaming
#1
My XBMC Dharma RC1 works great, but there is only one issue that I cannot solve. Streaming video via the internet is very slow. When I use the 'TWIT live' plugin or specify an RSS feed that contains video, then I get a framerate of around 1 frame/second (i tried the rss://feeds.nos.nl/journaal20uur).

It's not a bandwidth issue, because I can fetch 1.8 MBytes/second via my internet connection. When I use my laptop to watch the exact same stream (using VLC) then everything works fine. Streaming 720p video from YouTube is also no issue.

It's definitely an issue with my XBMC installation, because it works fine when I try it with XBMC Dharma RC1 on a Windows machine.

I have made the following changes to my system (Asrock ION 330HT):
  • Installed Asrock IR driver
  • Upgrade NVIDIA drivers to v260.19.21
  • Installed Samba
  • Installed LM-sensors

I just tried a stock XBMC Dharma RC1 installation on the Asrock ION 330HT (default settings) and it is still slow.
