Subtitles with MKV
#1
I have never been able to get subtitles to work with MKV movies.

Currently usiing Dharma RC1 and previously Beta 3

My MKV's play fine with subtitles when played back in DivX Player or Media Player Classic.

My MKV movies comprise of a single file with no additional subtitle files.

While playing an MKV in XBMC the OSD for subtitles cannot be selected.

Is this just something I'm doing or is it an XBMC 'undocumented feature' that effects everybody ?

Thanks in advance :-)

ps Subs play fine with regular DVD ISO's - just not MKV's :-(

debug log firstly, then possibly sample.

FYI. Working from Bluray rips this process works for me:

a) rip full BR to HDD via AnyDVD-HD
b) transcode video stream from the m2ts file into a MKV via Handbrake.
b) demux PGS & DTS-HD or Dolby TrueHD streams from original m2ts via TsMuxer.
c) convert the *.sup subtitle file to *.idx and *.sub via BDSup2Sub.
d) merge the *.idx and audio streams into Handbrake's MKV using mkvmerge.

I can then turn the subtitles on or off using the XBMC OSD. Have three streams in the end mkv; vid, audio and subs.
