[LINUX] HOW-TO use VAAPI HW Acceleration in Intel Core i3 / i5 / i7 integrated GPU

Hi alanwww1,
I'm trying to set up XBMC 11.0 on my laptop: Intel® Core™ i5-2520M Processor (with Intel® HD Graphics 3000).
Which guide should I follow to make XBMC to use VAAPI - the first post in this thread or the "Simplified Guide for a perfect minimal HTPC on INTEL platforms" (http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=114368) ?

I have Ubuntu 12.04 as well as XBMCBuntu 11.0....

yes I read that post. However the guide/first post in this thread has been modified on 2011-12-14, while the other one was last modified on 2012-02-11 - so I was wondering which one is more up-to-date...
