I would still really like an XBMC device under the TV other than the old trusty Xbox to view the HD documentaries I have.

I gave up on the Jetway and 2 self builds due to audio and remote problems.

I dont want to run Windows or Linux... at all... ever.. I want Xbox type feel preferably an Xbox remote.. although I do have an unused Harmony 650 and MS IR receiver but I'm not entirely convinced on the dreaded laaaag...

Ebuyer have the ZBOX barebone ION 330 for £140

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/227257

And

The Acer Revo at £229

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/236579

Is it worth spending the extra £90?

Also my biggest requirement - it has to work out of the box!

Turn it on - load Live - movie time!

I cant crack the code open... I dont have the time or the knowledge. No

The shuttle is no use - I need SPDIF.

So will ether of the above do this? emphasis on OOTB!

Appreciate any help fellas. Big Grin

I've just ordered one of these as a gift for someone. I will right a detailed guide for it.

Any reason you are opting for live? I will more than likely pot openelec.tv on it as its easier for a nontech person to use and update.

Sraue is part of the team now, and we see openelec.tv to be complementary to xbmclive.

Plenty of people running it - personally i have been running it for over a year now - for people who aren't linux savey its the quickest and easiest way to get an xbmc appliance setup that is auto autoupdating.

Not all hardware is supported out of the box, but if you identify something that doesn't work, Stephen will generally speaking have a new image out within a few days that supports it.

Other box is quite a good deal - either should be fine.
