I like XBMC with T! so much, I recommend it to people, unfortunately these people are not always computer savvy, have trouble navigating with a remote and have trouble exiting XBMC.
So, I figured I would put a Shutdown menu item on the Home Menu.
It isn't an instant shutdown so relax, you can still back out of it if accidentally selected it. It simply calls the standard shutdown screen.
Here is how I did it:
1- I went to Settings >Skin Settings > Menu > Custom 1 and created a label called "-shutdown-"
2- In Includes_Home.xml, there are 2 places that concern Menu_Custom1_Label,
one for the vertical menu and one for the horizontal and both start with <item id="14">
so I replaced
with
That's it
I wanted to have that menu item in a different color when selected but I could not figure it out so,
I added a dash "-" before and after the word "shutdown" so it still stands out.
ps: i got the idea from this thread http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=80886
