Moving from Camelot on Intrepid to RC2 advice?
#1
I plan on upgrading from Camelot stable (on kernel 2.6.31), but I’m a little apprehensive about breaking something. It is as simple as:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:team-xbmc-svn/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install xbmc

It’s a big jump, I understand. Am I better off fully installing Maverick from scratch? Or perhaps Lucid?

Take a HDD snapshot with something like Acronis true image or another HDD imaging program.

That way if anything goes wrong you can just restore image in 5 minutes and walla.

also read this http://forum.xbmc.org/showpost.php?p=659548&postcount=4

as an aside you need to install python-software-properties before add-apt-repository ppa:team-xbmc-svn/ppa works.

Dont recommend Maverick or lucid for n00bs.

If anything use stuff on my signature depending on your hardware.
