XBMC Crashes on Content scan for Video only [debug log posted]
#1
Hi there, new to the application (last time I touched it was back in the early Xbox modding days!) but it looks like some great things have happened over the years with it!

I'm trying to do a scan of my movies directory, and the application will just crash immediately.
I have gone and cleaned everything up with Ember, and have also tried forcing the library update using the Ember connector.
I can get it to do a partial scan of about the first 40 folders when I blast the library, but it eventually craps out.
I have attached a log, but it doesn't reveal much to my eye.
Running Win7 x64, and have tried both Camelot and Dharma RC2.

I was able to scan my MP3s without issue.

Debug Log: http://pastebin.com/ZuE8bw90

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

couple of things u can try,,,,

first, how much RAM you PC has?
because mine crashed once because i was low on ram,,,,

second, you can try to rename the XBMC folder located in --> C:/Program Files/XBMC
rename it to --> C:/Program Files/XBMC.OLD
then re-install XBMC DHARMA RC2 here --> C:/Program Files/XBMC

dont worry, you wont loose any settings as they aren't stored in there ....

4GB on a Quadcore Processor, so I'm thinking it's not likely to be system specs.
I'll try the reinstall and see what happens.
Thanks for the reply!

Does the scan always crash at the same point? That is, if you look at the debug log does it always stop at the same point? If you try moving the next directory to be scanned somewhere else. If you can pin down a specific directory that's causing the crash that will give the devs something to start with.
