Newegg has every movie stored in several compression levels on their servers. You can select best resolution for your network speed and download limit in your account on their site. I find it hard to believe that by recompressing on the fly in PlayOn on Celeron PC a compressed video file one gets from Newegg will make it look better than original. Each compression results in loss of quality, unless special settings, software, and multipath video processing with filters are used for movie restoration (not on the fly recompression). The best Newegg can deliver is via IE in Silverlight - low CPU load, and hight quality based on resolution selected in Newegg settings.
But another thing is in question: recently thousands of popular titles were removed from Newegg, so I'm finding it very difficult to get a high rated movie from it now. There are just a few in each category, unless I'm missing some search techniques.

Its pretty simple. I have XBMCFlicks working. Its been working for nearly a year. I get my Instant Queue and that is all, but that is all I need. If you do the steps correctly, it will work for you. If it doesn't, then move on to something else. The Plex plugin is a good route because it is being maintained.

Got everything to work but for some reason I cant get the keyboard shortcut to work for IE on my ps3 remote. In order for the keyboard keys to work on the remote I need to click on the mouse on my keyboard. Once that is done the shortcuts works. Anyone else having this issue? . I am on xbmc 12.1 and IE is 9. i try using IE 10 and same thing. I also try chrome and its the same. The only shortcut that works without going to the OSD is alt+f4 = shutdown web page (forcefully). Just annoying that I need to always click on the mouse first (after launching a movie) before my remote to work.

Is there a way to change video aspect ratio (frame size) in which the movie is streamed from Netflix server? When watching on an analog TV, can't find the way to reformat some videos properly to fit the screen 4:3 using a network player or PC XBMC controls, but there might be Netflix server streaming options set in Flicks prefs?
Also, how to change the Flicks setting opening IE each time in maximized browser window (not full screen mode) to a regular size browser window?

I was asking about Flicks. Are you talking of Netflix Viewer? What are the advantages and drawbacks of that app compare to Flicks?

The only drawback i can see is that its not a internal part of XBMC meaning you need something like advanced launcher to call it as a external program. Its a program in its own that uses IE (like Flicks) to view netflix but also comes with shortcut keys to navigation. The advantage is that there is no config messing to get it to work...you install, start it, it downloads the netflix DB content(takes 1hr for first run) and your ready to go. Build a launcher in XBMC with Advance launcher and start watching. The other advantage is that the applications is maintained still (last update was June 26) unlike XBMCFlicks.
Im not using it since i have Playon and configured the XBMC.Library external app to scrape netflix into my library. But if i had found this solution before, i might have taken it over my current setup
