Amazing!
I have a kinect and can't wait to pair it up with XBMC! Let me know if there is anything I can do to help test! I'm a fast learner. ;-)

After toying around with different ways of navigating, i'd like to test some things that need a custom skin built just for Kinect. Now I could go and learn xbmc skinning myself, but maybe someone more skilled would care to help me out? Preferable someone with a Kinect. Let me know if you're interested.

Hi Johnsel,
My Kinect arrives today (and the power supply tomorrow). I'd like to get very involved in the testing with you as my main motivation for buying the Kinect is to control my HTPC system in my living room.
I sit approx 8 feet away from my screens, a 42" LCD and also a drop down projection screen that gives me a 82" 1080p image from a DLP projector. I'm using Boxee but it's close enough to be relevant here.
Being that far away I understand my gestures will need to be reasonably large and as I am sitting down they will need to focus on lower arm movement rather than hands or fingers.
Movement styles that come to mind are.
Free mouse - arm movement with fingers open
Mouse click start - fist
Mouse click release - - open fingers
scroll mode - Start with forearm vertical with fingers open
scroll/move left - tip forearm over to the left with fingers open, (angle from center determins scrool speed.)
scroll/move right - tip forearm over to the right with fingers open, (angle from center determins scrool speed.)
Go Back - Swipe arm from right to left - fingers open
That should be a good start for basic navigation, I'll have a think about other controls like pause, skip etc.

Hm, I really can't get "Kinect Camera" or "Xbox NUI Audio" installed. Only says "Device cannot start". Any clues?

It should work perfectly fine from 3 meters, what doesn't work? Hand recognition or the scrolling itself?
