Option to only read music filenames and not ID3v1/ID3v2?
#1
Is there any way to configure XBMC to only read mp3 filenames and not any ID3v1 or ID3v2 tag information?

I wish to only browse my music in file mode.

Please help!

System settings, Music, File lists and disable "Enable tag reading".

Will this also disable the reading of album art embedded in the ID3v2 tags, or just the various text field tags?

Don't know. You could try it ...

Alternatively you can set the format for displaying the track. By default it builds the display names from the tags, but it might be possible to have it display the file name instead. That way you could leave tag reading on and still just display the file names.

I am delighted to report that this indeed disables XBMC from reading the ID3 tags, whilst still displaying embedded ID3v2 tag art.

The best of both worlds! Thank you! Smile
