I just purchased this HTPC and am looking to upgrade the memory. From the specs it looks like the Revo 3700 uses DR3 800 Mhz memory. I've been having a hard time finding anyone who carries this type of memory. I read on newegg.com that someone used a 1333 Mhz memory module that worked while on another one, a user said he could not get 1066 or 1333 Mhz to work with the Revo 3700. Do I have to use 800 or can I get any DDR3 memory? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1066 or 1333 should work fine as long as it is the same type and form factor and is not faulty. If system does not support 1066, will run them at a lower rate, like 800 in your case. The only downside is that higher frequency memory tends to be more expensive.

Thank you for the reply maxinc. I was thinking the same thing however I got a little spooked when I read that people were having issues running higher speed memory.

Well I just tried upgrading from stock (2x1GB Samsung SODIMMS - M471B2873FHS-CH9) to 2x2GB Kingston KVR1333D3S9.
Does not work. Doesn't boot, no beeps.
I don't understand why since from what I can tell the specs between the two brands are the same.

Crucial memory advisor even suggests RAM with the same specs as the Kingston. http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.a...evo%203700

Wish I could test the kingston ram somewhere else to be sure it's good. But they are brand new. Seems unlikely that I ended up with 2 bad ones.

I'm about to try the memory upgrade to mine - have you had any improvements? I'm seeing a slow response when I browse through my movies, so I'm hoping to improve that. Thanks!

I would first upgrade the hard drive to SSD before upgrading the memory. In my opinion, you will see a much bigger speed improvement. Upgrading memory is icing on the cake since its so cheap now. You wont get as much bang for the buck for hey, 4gb is $39 at newegg.
