Well I was planning on just upgrading my current HTPC with a new GT430 video card, but come to find out my mobo is PCI 1.0 and will not support my new video card.
So instead of replacing the mobo and having to go through the hassle of reinstalling windows and all that fun stuff I'm looking into building a new machine for either another windows setup or a possible XBMC Live setup.
I already have a GT430 video card and would prefer to use the 4Gb of DDR2 ram I just bought (although could possibly rma them for a credit).
Must Haves: I my collection is exclusively BluRay rips, so the setup must play all 1080P content and bust also bitstream out all audio codecs for my home theater setup. I also want to use my harmony remote w/ a HP IR receiver for control.
So looking for feedback on processors and mobo's that would be required. I know next to nothing about the XBMC Live setup, so I'm open to what the requirements would be and what would need to be done if it meets the criteria above.
