Hi,

I had XBMC live (linux) installed, but now with latest release opted for
windows version.

In Linux when looking at XBMC (menus and all) contrast and brightness were perfect.
In windows XBMC looks like 50% brightness was applied.
But when I look at HD movies picture is perfect, perfect contrast, perfect brightness, when I look at SD movies, the problem is here.

Also when XBMC is dimmed, its so bright its not dimmed

Also I checked all the settings but can not find an answer.

is there a solution for this?

I have ASROCK330 - ION, win7, Panasonic Plasma.

What is happening is that when you play the movies with GPU decoding the (wonderful) Nvidia driver is doing color correction to fix the picture.

This doesn't happen on the menus or the divx movies because the GPU can't color correct those.

Only real fix is to get in the Nvidia control panel and tweak the colors yourself!

Why linux doesn't have this problem?
I tried fixing this in nvidia control panel with no solution.

Problem still remains.

Is this windows problem or xbmc problem?
