Will this remote work with XBMC on Windows 7?

I'm looking at buying this remote:

I am wondering if you see any problems using it to control XBMC on Windows 7 64-bit? I am somewhat concerned with the "generic" IR receiver that it comes with.

Do IR receivers make a difference? Are there some receivers that just will not register with the remote/OS?

Thanks in advance.

No, you shouldn't run into any troubles. There are standard protocols for MCE remotes that work with virtually every RC6 receiver.

If you need any help with config, just search the forum for MCE remote, you should be fine.

The receiver looks like a Microsoft receiver, in which case as vanOert says it will work fine with XBMC. The remote looks like this one:

so it should be fine.
