I currently have an Asrock ION 330 which works fine, but want to buy another machine with integrated dvd player that can run xbmc live fine for my dad.

I found Shuttle XS35GT-804 Intel Atom D510 at newegg, but are there any other choices? I am discounting new Asrock machines since they seem to have problems related to wifi and remote.

I see that newegg has a beefier and feature-rich ASRock ION3D machine with 3D, gigabit lan, remote, etc. for only 10$ more compared to the Shuttle XS35GT-804 machine.

Is there a good reason why I should not buy the Asrock machine over the shuttle?

Why? Because it lies.

I know how much power it takes for 3D, and THAT box doesn't have that power.

If having a remote bundled is worth it for you maybe consider it, but don't buy it thinking for $10 you get 3D compatibility. It lies.

I would rather have a fanless (and therefore) silent shuttle myself.
