Is your DXVA settings option missing?
#1
Question
I'm using the release 10.0 and I don't have the option to enable/disable DXVA - on any skin I try.

Was it removed?
I'm not an expert but I play one at work.

Possibilities as follows:-

Providing you have downloaded and installed the 10.0 version and and not the previous 'stable build Camelot 9.11' you should go to System\Video\Playback\Allow Hardware Acceleration (DXVA 2) and activate.

Please note though that DXVA2 is only available in Vista/Win7 set-ups. XP users will have to use the DSPlayer branch, or an external player.

If the option for DXVA is not available it may be one of three issues

* Wrong build
* Wrong OS
* Correct build and OS but running in XP compatibility mode.

A debug log will tell for definite.

I found the problem - partly.

When using EventGhost (using XBMC.EXE -P) 10.0 is starting thinking Windows is XP, not Win7 x64 as it really is

not working properly through EventGhost...

So... the question is, when DXVA is turned on - will it use DXVA when it "thinks" it is running on XP - even though it is really on Win7?

I wouldn't have thought so given that you don't have the option to enable dxva.

If Eventghost is running in XP compatability mode it will (probably) start XBMC in compatability mode too.

The DSPlayer is a good alternative Smile.

But when i had dsplayer(xbmc) to play with dsplayer instead of dvdplayer, i could not play any dvd that i put in the dvdrom.
Any idea anyone?

I have to have this machine wifefriendly, and therfore as few as possible buttons to press, hehe Smile

DSPlayer is finished - no longer being developed. But I can't quite see what your post has to do with this thread?
