Actually that is wrong. My last one was a EADS that needed a jumper. I think they must have stopped making non-4k drives. I was kinda pissed, I payed extra to not deal with the jumper.

Just check on the label to see if it needs it.

Wow, this is news to me. Good thing I don't need any more drives for a bit.

It was very shocking for me too.

poofy,

I was reading about unRaid and it sounds like i might do this, The only downside to using unRaid seems to be reading and writing speed. I am not to concerned about the writing speed, but I have 3 HTPC's is it a possibility of having some issues, if all the HTPC's are streaming all at once?

Only reason I am asking is if I can stream no problems with unraid with up to 4 machines I will be choosing it over FreeNas

In my tests as long as you avoid older PCI based controllers in Unraid, you can easily handle up to five streams, and maybe more than five streams but that is all the hardware I have to test.

If that is your criteria, go Unraid.

Awesome thanks poofy, I just replaced the mobo, because of compatibility issues with unRAID. Seems the built in NIC will not work for the light edition but works for the non light edition. Go figure

Wow. You are basically rebuilding my mediaserver, except with a better mobo. Ram looks fine.

I will say, if you want you can step down to the Antec NEO 400 and be perfectly fine. I have a full Antec 300 with power hungry 7200 RPM drives only and the 400w version is fine. In fact I think the cables fit better:

It is even on sale right now! Oh and don't forget one of these:

That allows to you to get to 10 drives max, plus it helps case airflow. I would do that from day 1.

Great build altogether.
