is a mobo with onboard ati radeon 3200 gfx worth using?

hiSmile

i've been given by a familly member a gigabyte GA-MA78GM-DS2H motherboard, amd phenom 9950 and a 2gb stick of ram.

the mobo's has all the relevant htpc rear connections but will the ati 3200 gfx be up to it??

i have a zotac ion in my living room atm which is great, but it struggles with the aeon skins (even with a corsair ssd) which are my fave.

so since i've come into these items for basically free, i was thinking of building a htpc box using a silverstone case or similar.

any thoughts guys?

That GPU isn't up to the job (its worse than what ION has), but put a GT210 in that system and you are set.

I have that Mobo with an AMD 4850e on Win7 and it has no problems doing 1080p. Not sure how it performs with the Aeon skin.

Your CPU must be doing some of the work. I would love to know what your CPU load during playback is.
