It's automated. You can simply change the channel and find something you haven't seen in a while, or something you forgot you had in the library. I find myself browsing through PsuedoTV 90% of the time I'm using my XBMC box.

The only con right now is the slow episode guide (I'm on an atom box). Everything else is excellent.

EDIT: updated to the development build and it seems a bit faster.

Agreed, after taking the time to properly and completely setup PseudoTV. I find that my wife and i use it more often than the library. Most of the time you never really know what you want to watch. And this addon solves that problem. Also a friend of mine doesnt have cable tv, and he has his house setup with a nice library and PseudoTV and now you can kinda feel like your watching normal tv...

Need some help figuring out how to I should go about setting a channel up. I have a Family TV channel set up from a custom playlist I made. Using:

MPAA Rating is TV-Y7
MPAA Rating is TV-G
MPAA Rating is TV-PG
Show is not Portlandia (heh)

Problem is, I'm getting a bunch of Looney Tunes in from the Golden Collections volume 1 & 2. I'm also getting all of the classic Roadrunner & Wile E Coyote shorts. Well, neither of those are gonna scrape in XBMC. How can I get those shows to be in my Family TV channel? How should I set it up?

Hi
love this addon!!!
my wife recommended three improvements . love to hear your thoughts about it

1) right now when you change the channel you get the info bar (or by clicking the info button) - you can then go left and right to see whats next or what has already played. the problem is that if you browse and see something you want to see, you cannot press "ok" and switch it but it actually pops up the EPG and you need to select it again, can the "ok" button or maybe the "play" button just play the selected show?

2) when you see the info of the show, the up / down button changes the channel. can we set it so "channel up" & "channel down" will change the channel and the up/down will show the info on the next channels? that way (with combination of suggestion number 1) will be able to browse 5 shows in advance, 3 channels down and press "play" and the show will play).

3) my favorite idea yet - can we have Picture in picture? browse the epg and select a show that is playing on the action channel and have it play on the bottom right of the screen in a small window. could be cool.

what do you guys think?

Don't know why you think that these will not scrape in XBMC. They are most definately in thetvdb: http://thetvdb.com/?tab=series&id=72514&lid=7

It's just a matter of renaming them probably.

I'm using a MacMini, Eden 11 & Aeon MQ3 Skin

I have downgraded to Darma 10.1 & Aeon MQ2 in order to check if the problem still exists and it's still there... I have tried also with other skins (Confluence & Alaska Revisited) without luck...

Undecided

I'm trying to hide the seekbar in PseudoTV on the ReFOCUS Skin (0.9.5) - are there any smart guys out there that can help?

Here is the contents of the DialogSeekBar.xml file:

So, I have Cirrus skin installed. Every time I change the channel, both the PseudoTV video info displays AND the Cirrus video info box displays (on top of it).

How can I disable the Cirrus video info box in PseudoTV?

---

Also, another weird thing. It fixes if I bounce out of PseudoTV and go back in, but sometimes when I'm browsing through channels, the video will start slightly stuttering and it ends up in the audio being slow. Like anybody who talks sounds like their voice is SEVERAL octaves lower. But, if I restart PseudoTV, it's fine. What would cause that?

Hello,

Just found out few bugs yesterday while testing PseudoTV. I had freezing issues in addon configuration mode and EPG mode:

#Bug 1: While configuring a custom playlist as a channel, if the playlist file name as accent in it, it will freeze as soon as you validate your choice. Ex: ação.xsp, would freeze while acao.xsp would not.

#Bug 2: While browsing in the EPG window, as soon as you select a channel, where the name contains an accent, it will freeze PseudoTV. To solve that I edited the xsp file and change the following <name>Ação</name> to <name>Acao</name>

#Bug 3: While configuring a channel and trying to set it as "movie genre" the genre stays blank without any other choices. I did not find a way to solve that. It is a minor issue to me as I can get along with the custom playlist, but I wish I could solved that for other people.

#Bug 4: In the EPG window, when the Info Dialog comes up, it only show the media title and no synopsys at all Sad
This is a priority to me and I hope someone could help me with this.

Besides that thanks for this great addon SmileSmile

First off, I'd like to say thank you to everyone who made this add-on happen, it's simply a great piece of software!

Secondly, and I apologize if this has answered before, but I couldn't find the answer searching through this thread, the forum, or Google: does PseudoTV support the SmallStepBack function?
The default key for the small step back in XBMC is the apostrophe/single quote ( ' ) key, which skips video back seven seconds. I use this function a lot, whether in XBMC (I have it mapped to a button on my remote) or watching TV on a DVR. For some reason, it doesn't seem to work while using PseudoTV, and I can only skip back 30 seconds at a time.
I almost never want to skip back 30 seconds, as most of the time I skip back because of something I just missed, and 30 seconds is far too much to rewatch. Is there is a way to enable it? If not, I would really like to see this feature supported.
