Whoops, Installed Live by Mistake on Ubuntu
#1
So I just installed the latest XBMC on my Ubuntu machine and wanted to be able to switch from the Gnome session to an XBMC session at the login screen but with the new version of XBMC the option wasn't there. I thought be installing the Live package that the problem would be fixed. Well it was but in an overkill sort of way, no I have no login and I boot into XBMC every time. I would like to be able to get my GNOME desktop back with my login screen. How can I get this? Also how can I then add XBMC to the session selection at start up after I've gotten GNOME back?

Code:
sudo rc-update.d -f remove xbmc

That keeps it from starting at boot up.

Then you might have to re-run gdm or use dpkg-reconfingure gdm to put gdm back as the default login manager.

no.... just install gdm and it will remove xbmc-live automatically.

Didn't with my install....I had to go back and remove xmbc-live from the rc scripts even after installing and configuring gdm.
