Hi all...

I have recently been trying to setup a tvserver at home.

I have been doing alle the testings on Windows machines, and have a fully working TV server running MediaPortal TvServer.

I have been using margro's windows builds of XBMC with PVR support.
Now the time has come to my Zotac ION machine in the living room running an installation of the XBMC live CD.

I just installed a normal ubuntu with a friendly GUI for testing purpose.
I have installed xbmc with pvr from this PPA:lars-opdenkamp/xbmc-pvr

As i browsed to the addons i saw, that only one MediaPortal addon is availible, but on the Windows builds i have two MediaPortal addons, a tsreader(for single seat setup) and a ffmpeg. I use the ffmpeg addon on the windows machine, and i works perfect.

When i try to configure the one and only plugin on the Ubuntu machine, it doesn't say it it's tsreader og ffmpeg, can any of you clearify what i uses?

I can't get it to connect to the tvserver. What am I doing wrong? do I need another addon? and if so, which and where to find it?

I hope some of you have a similar working setup, who can help Smile

I use both Windows and Linux (xubuntu) versions of pvr builds and media portal pvr client works equally fine in both cases.

One difference is that I run my own iptv server instead of media portal server but i do not think it should matter
I have 2 linux boxes and a windows one connected to the same server.

If you use similar (remote server) setup make sure target machine does not block incoming calls (firewall?)

opdenkamp / dushmaniac

xbmc-pvr [Eden-PVR builds] [now included in mainline XBMC, so no more source link here :)]
personal website: [link]

Found a problem with PVR? Report it on Trac, under "PVR - core components". Please attach the full debug log.

If you like my work, please consider donating to me and/or Team XBMC.

Smile It is basically my own python server that processes my specific iptv data sources (russian programming) and using MP protocol to make PVR Client think it is talking to MP.

At some point i will create my own pvr client but for now existing MP one is fine for what i need

Hi, I am having the same issue as TjaLfE, was this ever solved?

EDIT: Oh boy, I feel silly. The port was not opened in Windows Firewall....

EDT2: Ok...so it actually does not work. I get the channels loaded now and the EPG data but I cannot open a channel. http://paste.ubuntu.com/569942/

Same here, I started a thread a month ago (exactly the same issue) , it looks like some sort of issue with the mapping of the RTSP stream (which you can watch successfully, by settting up a video playlist to it) and the pvr pointer which does not work
