Asrock 152D remote partially working

Hi all,

I've spent a couple of days trying to deal with the Asrock remote that came with my Asrock ION 3D 152D box, and have only come to a partial solution. On my Fedora 14 installation the remote seems to be automatically detected by lirc: the problem is only a few buttons actually do something in XBMC, while others are just ignored (if they're handled at all, that is).

I've searched around quite a lot (both Google and this same forum) but most of the proposed solutions are either Windows-only or Ubuntu-specific. The wiki itself:

http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Rem...ock_Remote

doesn't even mention Linux for this remote.

I really don't know whether it's a problem in lirc missing some input or in the XBMC configuration. I tried checking the lirc configuration:
  • first using irw, which doesn't answer at all (nothing is written on the shell no matter what I do on the remote)
  • then using irrecord, which at first recognizes my remote as an RC-6 but then fails when "Checking for toggle bit mask": the application complains about a "But I know for sure that RC6 has a toggle bit!" and no file is generated.

Using mode2 I can see that all buttons are correctly intercepted by the receiver, so it *may* be a lirc failure, but I couldn't find any lirc.conf for my remote and, as already said, I couldn't generate one myself using irrecord.

I'm not aware of any remote.xml specifically conceived for my remote, so I can't check whether in XBMC everything's as it's supposed to be (I'm using the valilla xml files from the /usr/share/xbmc/system/keymaps folder).

Is there anybody who has faced the same issue and won?

Thanks in advance for any help you'll be able to provide me with!
